overheating problem
#1
i have a 2006 arctic cat 650 v2. last year it overheated probably 3-4 times, mostly when i had a passenger with me. near the end of the summer i changed to a 70/30 antifreeze/coolant and water mix. it says on the jug that the more % of AF/coolant the higher the boil over point is. i dont know what that means but i assumed it meant it wouldnt overheat. i just want to get an opinion from someone who knows more than me. if problems persist im thinking of going back to 50/50 with water wetter. thanks for any help.

Boil over point is the A/Fs abililty to raise the boiling point, wich is desirable. Most of the raised boiling point is also gained by the presure held in the cooling system by the radiator cap. The bad thing about A/F is it dosnt like to transfer heat. Case in point we dont run it at 100% intill out side air temps dont go above ( if i remember correctly) 30 deg F. YOUR temp range you ride in should be what you base your mix ratio on,but not lower then 50/50 (they say) to control corrrision in the system. My temp range here lets me, and I use a wetting agent do to the fact i use my bf 750 very hard and over heated it twice with a clean radiator pulling trees out of the woods. I personaly would not raise my ratio to keep it cooler, it go's against every thing I know.
