i thought the same thing. i should be getting a used rhino in a few days. i'll report back once i have it. to me best thing about the prowler is stability - flat out speed is only greater in the prowler by a little and the rhino is a bit quicker. in the end i mostly based my decision on being more comfortable with the rhino because i have been on one a lot. . . and i like the fact there are more of them relative to the others so should be easier to get help/repair, etc.

Same thing happened to me, sort of. I went to the local Yamaha dealer and asked their out the door price on an '07 Rhino, and they would not give me a price. After half an hour of me asking what the price was, and them asking silly things like "what did I want to make for payments?", and "how much down payment would there be?", and still not being able to ever get a price out of them, I left. I called another dealer I have dealt with in the past, and got an out the door price over the phone, and picked it up the next weekend. The bad thing about side x sides being so popular right now is that dealers and the aftermarket industry are downright raping us on the cost of anything side x side related. My neighbor just bought a Polaris Razr, and he bought it in Minnesota and had it shipped here to Utah for a lot less money than he could have bought one for locally.

I ended up with a used Rhino. I love it. Has what I wanted and a few extra goodies. I hope the thread can help others learn more about the machines.

atv magazine just labeled the prowler the best UTV.</end quote></div>

atv magazine and dirtwheels are very close, but Dirtwheels is a lot more popular. Anyway they had an issue titled "is the prowler better than the rhino?" the rhino won, they were close through the test, but the prowler, like polaris, had many reliability issues. one of the worst was the front a-arms bent easily. another thing that i found out first hand at gander mtn. was the gas pedal on the prowler was just bolted into the plastic, and you could push it from side-to-side easily.

I've had the rhino a month now and for me i made the right decision. i really like how agile it is. I do know for others the 400 lb limit in the cargo bed is a minus.
