I see one before but a guy made it custom for his quad.. it looked cool! he made it out of 1" aluminum square tubing.. I mean a canoe only weighs a 100lbs or so right?

yeah, a 17 foot heavy duty aluminum canoe goes about 90 pounds.

The thing I wonder about is the canoe banging into branches and rocks as you go.
