Custom building my own may be an option
I looked into some on-line distributors of UHMW plastic (I haven't called any local plastic suppliers yet)
Here's a good one - http://www.onlinemetals.com/me...es&id=790&top_cat=181
1/4"x36"x48" sheet will run about $80 plus shipping. Add another $20 for a 1/2"x12"x12" to cut a front bash plate.
The 3x4 ft sheet should be enough to cover the bottom and possibly width wise to extend under the foot rests. There maybe enough left over to cut A-arm gaurds so for a little over $100 I could build a super slick skid plate. But it would be only as good as the hardware that holds it on. Otherwise I'll end up with a bunch of expensive cutting boards.
Anyone have any ideas for hardware or know if any aluminum skid plate manufacturers that sell mounting hardware separate for replacements or something?
I also found some tips on cutting the stuff-

thanks for all of the input. I'll post the results if I build my own.

I don't want to ruffle feathers here by posting a link to another forum, but here is a link to a discussion of UMHW skids at PRC forum.com.

Hope this helps you build it right.

Wow there's a lot of info out there on the web when you get into something -
HDPE vs UHMW
http://www.practicalmachinist....owthread.php?t=150907
Another option for plastic, lower cost but at a 1/2" thick it should make up for the difference between the two materials as far as durability
HDPE MarinaBoard Black 1/2"x24"x54"
Price: $79.06
MarinaBoard is a High Density Polyethylene formulated for the marine industry
PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS:
High degree of stability
Good flexibility and toughness
Ultraviolet (UV) stabilized to resist direct sunlight degradation throughout
