Default anyone have tips on building your own skid plates?

I just went down to the machine shop @ work... unfortunately.. the guy still hasn't bent up my Footwell skid plates... though.. I am using my Sled now and not my quad... but I am still excited to see how they come out! I am making them out of 3/16" 5052 AL

Default anyone have tips on building your own skid plates?

I wouldn't drill through the frame. It will weaken that area. Button weld a small section of angle iron to the frame and then drill through that. I would use the carrage bolts myself.
