Hey man,

What you have to do is decide what you want the quad for and how much you want to spend! Personally I think that all brands produce a good quad. Some will perform better than others in certain situations, but in all they all have good qualities. Another one to consider would be the arctic cat 500. Its a very strong and capable machine that like most others will last forever if taken care of and not abused!

One more thing i would certainly stay away from an SRA quad as the groung clearance is a major disadvantaged for getting back in the woods and performs poorly in deep mud!

Yes..........Whatever your choice..........STAY with IRS...........You listed your needs and I think a solid rear axle will turn out to be a major pain for you ............More soft ride also and higher ground clearance in the center of the Quad .......Good luck shopping............Sometimes it's the best part.......Caper.........

The 450 KQ is a full sized Utility ATV chassis like the 750 KQ, 500 and up Polaris and 400 and up Arctic Cats. The 400 Suzuki KQ has a mid size chassis but has a SRA (Straight rear axle) rear end. The only Mid size Utility with IRS I can think of is the Yamaha 400 Kodiak or 450 Grizzly.

If you are not looking for really aggressive trail riding, the Arcticat would be very nice. The Polaris, Suzuki, and Yamahas are also nice. Everything depends on your price limit. Choose one of these according to how much you can afford and if you want to addany accessories on such as a winch.

Hands down the CanAm 400XT EFI faster smoother better than any other 400 class atv.

I believe I read on another forum where someone who owned a Kodiak 450, Outlander 400, and King 450 said the King was the best out of all of them allround. The King 450 is a 500 class machine.

My father in law had a 2000 king quad 500! I could be wrong about the year! Any way it was a very nice quad. And it seemed to pretty reliable!
