Here in the S.C. Lowcountry a big Whitetail only reaches around 200lbs most of the deer we take weigh around 160-180. I just throw them on the racks (I have extenders) and bring them out have hauled out 3 at a time (now that took some serious hog tying but we did it) My favorite accesorie is my Tree stand carrier. It will carry a climbing tree stand noise free and securly with no problem and uses no rack space. Here in the swamps an ATV is almost a must to get into the deep reaches of the woods , I wouldn,t try to get in there without one now.

I have a friend who, due to an accident, has limited physical agility. He uses his winch (which all manufacturers advise you against doing) and a ****** block to lift his deer onto his atv. He seems to be doing ok with this technique.

Accessories? The fewer the better. I use my atv for hunting and have only three accessories which suit me fine, A 2,000 lb Warn winch with roller fairlead, front rack mounted single rifle rack and a ball installed on the factory trailer hitch mount.
I've used that trailer hitch so much it would be an inconvenience not to have one.
My y2k Big Bear came with a 12 volt universal accessory receptacle but I haven't used it yet.

This is for the people who use an atv for hunting and to generate opinions and thoughts.

Why would the Feds limit public hunting land to atv's yet allow trained dogs to hunt game?
Is it established tradition in the sport of hunting?

Is it because an atv gives a hunter an advantage in pursuing and bagging game? What about hunting on horseback?

What is the sport in hunting with dogs -vs-
atv's and where is there any sport in sitting in a tree stand waiting for dogs to round up game, chasing game into an ambush?

Atv's access to public land may be limited because they may scar the landscape or be used to "round up" game. In snow country, are snowmobiles allowed for hunting purposes where atvs are not allowed?

What if atv's were restricted only to established trails in hunting areas? Do you think it is possible to have restrictions lifted or modified which prohibit atv access to public lands if atvers would sign acknowledgment of rules form at a gate entrance?

I feel atvers are singled out and restricted unnecessarily. Is there an image problem here?
