I'm having problems with my winch. It doesn't seem to want to go in after I have been plowing with it for awhile....Does anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this problem?

 

Is your solenoid clicking like it is working, or just silent when you push the button. My winch was doing this, it would work sometimes, sound like it was really struggling to pull in the winch cable when it did work, and when it got real bad I would hear the clicking, but the winch wouldn't do a thing. I took the winch off, completely disassembled it, both sides on my Warn 2.5ci, cleaned the gears (one side wasn't really grease, but black dust), regreased, reassembled. Put it back on, now it works like brand new, doesn't struggle at all. Can't believe the difference regreasing it made.
