Default 2012 Honda TRX-500FED needs a plow!

I just bought a 2012 Honda Foreman and am looking for a plow for it. My driveway is not that long in my current house but the next one might be bigger and since my snow blower crapped out I think a plow would be good. I have seen different types online and am not sure which one would be best. Ideally I would like to find one that is under $600 and wouldn't damage my ATV or be too big of a pain getting it on and off. Any suggestions or placing worth checking out to buy it?
Thanks!

Hey ... I just bought a new Warn pro-vantage front mount plow set-up. It was well under the 600.00 dollar mark. The front bracket can stay on all year, its above my frame and the plow disconnects in 10 seconds. I love it ..

Most blades come in 48", 54", 60", 66", 72" or 78" the wider the heavier. Some times it better to go with less width and just do a few more passes.

You have a full size ATV the 54-66 are the most popular.

Is the front mount as stable as a center mount? How solid is it?

Default Mount location

Brookfield Basher,

I have had both front and mid-mount. Since I have been using the Mid-Mount on my '04 AC 500 TRV with a 60" plow, I'd have to go with the Mid-Mount. All the weight of the Thrust goes directly to the center of the ATV. I plowed most of the day yesterday, having gotten 9" of snow in the last two days and it was becoming packy. I was surprised to say the least as I was easily moving 12"+ packy snow in the drifts. Not only does it move the snow, it does it quickly. FUN JOB for a 75 yr old fella..........Still having fun outdoors.

Good Luck in which ever you choose

I've had both a front mount and a mid mount. I like the front mount better. It's more convenient when you don't have to lay on the ground putting pins in or pulling them out. I could still live with that but the best thing is I still have the same ground clearance in the middle instead of losing 2 inches. I high centered and got stuck riding with the mid mount still attached. I ended up having to take it off in the spring and put it back on in the fall. I really used to like riding in the winter but not when the mount was on. It got me stuck on a stump that I should have gone right over.

I only leave the mount on the ATV when I'm using it for moving snow or dirt. As to mounting it, I only have to kneel next to each running board and inset a pin. Takes maybe 5 minutes with lining the whole thing. It takes up very little clearance the way it is mounted. I've never gotten it stuck however. Taking it off even goes quicker.

I assume it's all in your setup compared to mine.
