Default Electric locking differential in a 1990s kodiak

Hey everyone, I have a question. I have a 1990s Kodiak 400 and a 2006 kodiak 450. I don't care for the 400s all time 4x4. If I found a differential from an 03-06 Kodiak can I wire it up on the 400? Both difs look the same and mount the same. Hopefully someone can answer my questions.

As long as the ratios are the same, I'd think so.There was a guy in Sweden that replaced the locked rear end on his Arctic Cat Diesel with a locking front differential, so he didn't tear up his lawn....

Kodiak/Grizzly 450 (Thanks YAMAFORD)
Primary (V-belt): (2.55 - 0.75)
Secondary: 2.166 (39/24 x 24/18)
Final Drive: 3.67 (33/9)

93-98 kodiak 400 and BB Pro
Primary reduction: 3.166 (76/24)
Secondary reduction: 1.333 (24/18)
Final Drive: 3.67 (33/9)

Final drive is the same for both ATVs, that would be the ratios I'm looking for right?info is from http://forum.highlifter.com/m/tm.aspx?m=3252375&p=1
