death of a solenoid

I have a 00 Kodiak with a factory installed a2000 Warn. The dealer said they wired it direct to the battery because as some one stated earlier it eliminates wiring problems as well as simplicity. I thought they were just doing it the easy way for them but now I see that many others do this also. My control switch fell apart one day as I was riding and I looked at my Warn warrenty and I had neglected to mail in the reg. card. I emailed the company about my dilemma and received a reply that a new one was in the mail. No questions asked and they did not want the old one back. What a great company. As you all know they are a little more expensive then others but I would definatly recommend spending the extra for the peace of mind that if and when you really over work the winch and something goes wrong they seem to back it 100%.

I have had similiar experiences with Superwinch. As most of you know, Superwinch has made crappy switches for a while now. Two days after the dealer installed my winch the switch fell apart (after I had 40' of cable pulled out!!). I called Superwinch(US) and they asked for my address and sent a new switch out to me right away. Recently, Superwinch redesigned their ATV2000 winch motors to be completely sealed. Since our winch is only 5 months old, I contacted Superwinch by email and asked that it be replaced. Again, they asked for my address and said they would send one out right away. As someone has said here before... now that's service. My faith in Superwinch and their product is returning. I think the fact that Suzuki and Kawasaki told them to shape up or they would lose the business may have helped.
Let it also be a note to Superwinch owners. Any winches sent back to the company under warranty with motor problems are being returned to the customer with the new sealed motor.
