I've just purchased a Superwinch X1F winch. This winch has a higher Hp rating (1.3 vs .9) and a higher line speed than the T1500 or T2000 inches. This winch does not come with the rocker style switches found on the 1500 & 2000, this winch is supplied with a rotary syle switch that can be mounted (with supplied bracket) on a fender, rack, etc., or on the side of the winch itself.
I was wondering if it would be feasable/practical to have one switch mounted on the winch and another switch (either rocker or rotary) that would be accessable from the the seat/riding position??
I don't see how this would cause a potential problem, or am I missing something? Any advice would be really appreaciated!

I don't know what you have but I've never seen a switch mounted on teh winch itself you really don't want to have your hands down near or any where around the winch or cable so I would not recomend putting one on the winch.

The switch on the handle bars is not a bad idea but watch the current rating of the switch for the relay that came with it. If it is the larger rotory switch like the Warn 2000 uses it is that large
to handle the current that runs through it. You still need to get a good rocker swith that is on-off-on position with an automatic recenter on it. You may also want to run a second relay like the auto motive relays to cut down the current that runs to the smaller switch.

Also, what type of conditions will you be riding in because of you mount the switch on the winch, you have a potiental for water and debris to get into the switch and short it out.
