<< Them polaris's have a locked front end and my Grizz does too. I haven't had any problems yet but I'm still running stock tires. I'm about ready to get a new set though. Thinking about some Bearclaws. >>
I'm talking about 100% locked front ends that always stay locked. The Polaris quads are not always locked only when the rear end slips and the Grizzly is not always locked in either.

Man, I have never read a thread with this many turns in it. What started as which have locked 4x4 and ended up being a Kawi lovers thread. I know everyone loves their machine but we have someone hear looking for facts not preference.
To me true 4x4 or locked 4x4 is when all four wheels are completely engaged at a stand still.
This would include some Kawasaki's like the 650 Pairie, Yamaha Grizzly 660, and some Suzuki's. No, it does not include the Polaris line-up or the Bombardier's. Althought these will eventually lock and unlock under motion.
Just to toss in my preference I would take the Grizz. I do not have to stop to go into 3x4 or 4x4 locked. When I am in an off-camber situation and need 4x4 locked, I don't want to worry about holding in a lever on my left side the whole time when I'm shifting body weight to the right or left of the machine.

The Quest uses a four-wheel drive system that automatically senses when 4wd is required, and even goes one step further by automatically locking the front differential when extra drive is needed. The Sportsman uses a similiar "torque sensing" 4wd system. Both the Grizzly and the Prairie have manual front differential locks which are activated by the rider.

Barko, Sure does! I have to be careful when I go across our lawn back by the woods because it sure likes to rip away at the grass even with me not giving it much throttle! It will be fun plowing with it this winter!
