Hello everybody, I'm new to your forum. For those of you who have 660 Grizzlies I've got some cool information on a great and inexpensive performance upgrade. I'm sure you've all heard of the stock exhaust modification. It really works!! There is a small company in Blackfoot Idaho named Mountain West Performance Enterprise making 2 inch chrome turn down pipes for the 660 Grizzly. They look awesome and give very noticeable power gains. They sell the tip with a 1/2 by 12 inch drill bit to drill out the baffle plate inside the muffler. Decreases exhaust temp alot and increases performance. Looks great all for $49.99 and $20.00 for the drill bit. Installation is a breeze and you can bolt in your stock exhaust tip to quite it down for those hunters out there. You get the best of both worlds. Good luck!! if you need more info send them an e-mail they can send you pics and answere any questions. www.mountainwestent@aol.com I don't think they have a web site yet. It's well worth the money!!!! How much louder is it with this mod ? Where's Blackfoot at ? I'm pretty close over the Idaho line.

Not a whole lot louder, noticable still spark arrested and inter-changeable with the stock tip. Best mod I've seen for the money you get great power gains. Blackfoot is 30 miles south of Idaho Falls. South east corner of the state. I think shipping is 5 bucks on the tip and the drill bit.

Cool, I might have to give it a try. What do you have for riding down there ? I've been through there a few times.

Bud, anything you could ever imagine if you can hang on!! Steep, rocks, mud, sand, water, air (if your going fast enough), just about everything. I'm sure you've probably got similar in montana don't you? Give me a buzz if your heading this way I'd be glad to show you around.

Just might take you up on the offer one of these weekends, always looking for new places to ride. We've got lots of steep and rocks not much sand or water in my neck of the woods.

hey powerhungry, do you have to do any adjustments for the different backpressure?? That tip sounds great. Might just have to get one! Thanks

The only adjustment you have to make is how hard you hold on to the grips. Seriously though, not for back pressure. It has to much stock, installing the kit opens the exhaust makes for a cooler running' free flowing engine. I recommend that after the instal, you go on a hard ride and then pull your plug and check the burn. It won't lean the machine out enough to damage the engine, but you may have to go slightly bigger jets to gain the maximum performance. I noticed huge power increases with no jet mods on mine. I'm at about 5000' altitude. More air out, means more air in. Depending on your altitude and whether or not your machine is jetted properly now, will depend on what you have to do with it after any future mods!
