Trailer for quads

Rich - I just picked up an aluminum two-place ATV trailer manufactured by Worthington. Here is the website address: http://www.worthingtontrailers.com/ Cost was $1450, the deck is 100" by 86" and I am able to fit my Foreman and my Prairie 650 on it (although if the prairie was an inch or so longer, I would be in trouble). I love the trailer - sure beats the tilt-load I had previously
Good luck with your purchase

I have an open landscaping trailer with a ramp on the back. Its about 20' long and 6' wide. It will haul 4 full sized quads at slight angles with about 2' left on the rear. It was only about 1300 bucks brand new, and is extremely nice. Trailer brakes, dual axle, nice brand new tires and wheels. It has a 1.5' railing around the sides of it, and the ramp is about 4' long, it attaches with pins and cotter keys.
Dirt is seldom a problem. It is not as nice as an enclosed trailer, but its infinately cheaper. Not to mention much lighter for smaller trucks/suv's or older/underpowered half ton pickups.

I made my own trailer, I made it with a 3500 lb torsion axle (sits low, idependent suspension) and it is 8ft wide(wheel to wheel on the outside of the trailer) and 12 ft. long. I can put 3 wheelers on it sideways, not big utes, but my Wolverine, 300ex and another sporty one will fit fine. It has 15" tires, but because of the 'z' tongue and the torsion axles, it sits so low, I can almost drive up on it from the ground with my Wolverine !! With those big wheels, it pulls like a dream, and the electric brakes make it no problem to pull on the steepest downhills !! Materials cost me about 600, and it is 3/16" 2x3 square tubing, so it is solid as a rock, and fits behind the truck fine, very little wheel sticks out beyond the truck, and is easy to see in the mirror. It all comes down to what you want to pull, and how much space you want. I used old steel snowmobile trailers before, and they seem to take a beating with the extra weight of a 4 wheeler and rough back roads, and like stated before, rust did do some damage as they got older.

This is a really old thread, but i'm reading it so maybe others are still too. We had a 3 place Northstar trailer... sold by gander mountain. Gander Mountain® > North Star Sportstar III WG Trailer with Gate Kit - Auto & ATV > Trailers & Hitches > Trailers : We loved it but then we got more atvs and had to go with a flat bed. it was super easy to load and tie down to. Drive on drive off side load.
