It's all in the tires, I don't think gearing makes much difference on ice, what are the brand of tires you're looking at? As far as the hill climbs go, you had a great attitude, just not great tires, they're getting alittle worn and like you pointed out the tread pattern on mine are pretty sweet. Get yourself some new 22" tires and we'll hit it again
Have you looked into razr2's? I have 22" ers on the 400ex they hook when they should, but will slide when you want them to. They looked a little deeper and more open then the ITP's on Larry's quad. They are in the same price range, so that isn't a factor. When they are worn I'll prolly switch to ITP's just to compare.

Pretty interesting design, I think you'll need to ride alot of mud or snow to get the benefit of the tire. Don't know how it'll peform crusing around on the logging roads though. Have you ordered them yet, get them and lets head back to the snow for round two
most of the people that rated them highly said they road in everything from hard pack gravel/ dirt/ snow/ and mud. im up for a rematch any day b1tch

i have been on a few rides with people that run the razr's and they like them and they seem to hook up pretty good but im still hooked on the mud machines. i have a buddy in wsqr that ran the stock rappy tires (which for a stock tire is a good tread design) but now he has the mud sharks by gbc (they are a deep bar type lug like the mud machines) and he says he gets twice the traction in the trails at tahuya. tahuya is pretty packed down and not alot of deep mud and he was running 5-6lbs so he didnt even have them aired down for traction. we will see when i get them, i am not for following the norm of itp's and razr's, as you can see i run a DS in trail terratory. Ok for all of you "surfers" I need a favor. I'm building a new website for S&D Promotions & need some input!! They have one already but noone takes care of it & they JUST got this seasons dates up LAST week they aren't very happy w/ it either, so I talked to them & am now building them one w/ points standings, the top 3 finishers every weekend, dates times, fees ect. SOOOOO IF YOU ALL WOULD LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF IT SO FAR I WOULD APPRECIATE IT The front page will be different as I'm waiting to get some info about S&D Here's the links to thier old one & the new one for comparision!! Let me know if the address works I think thats what it is as of now anyway. It won't have sandvigracing in it after I get rid of the cookies & work some stuff out!!

hey sandbomber in the next month or so i am gonna do the endcap mod and get a dial-a-jet on my ds. do the dial-a-jets come in different sizes, if so what size do you recomend? i have been with other quads that were jetted/piped and when we got up high on the mountain they ran like crap. that is the only reason i want to go with something i can adjust. any suggestions? brand of jet or size? i am gonna do my own endcap cuz i do sheetmetal, have access to all the tools needed and the skillz. Cle Elum run picture update...

I posted a mini movie of Bear going backwards down the hill we played on at the end of the day. Nothing fancy. It's 4MB so only click on it if you have high speed.

It's the very last lower right hand link: http://www.4wheelingplus.com/manasta...-run-12_18_04/

i hopped in to check out the classes for races and i noticed some of them change class mid line. just my opinion but i would think its easier to understand if each class had its own line.
