Ok... obviously I'm a noob to this e-bay thing... any secrets to these auctions? I waited to the last two minutes and started my bidding... another guy must have had an automatic bid going... out-bid me right away every time. Do I put in my automatic bid at the last minute, so it doesn't get driven up?

Carl,
You can put a maximum bid in that you want to pay, But if no one pushes your bid up, you will get it cheaper than your maximum. Also, when you are looking for certain things in particular, sometimes there will be a "Buy it Now" price and if you use that, you will automatically win it. What could be happening when you bid, and someone immediately overbids you, its because they have set thier maximum higher than what you just bid, so it auotmatically pushes the bid higher. I have about 140 transactions through Ebay and a whole bunch more that I didnt win. If what you are looking for has alot of bidding action, you can expect to have to bid alot more than what you intended on bidding.
Good Luck
Nick

Great ride at Tahuya today, BigDaddy, Skllz, Kenny and myself tore it up. We did the entire Overland, Mission Creek and part of the Tahuya River trails. It didn't rain until we got back to the staging area, we ran into 2 groups of riders coming the other way on the trail, had no major problems, just your typical wrist breakers and some nice puddles. That was my first time on the Overland trail, very challenging at times but alot of fun, can't wait to do it again, maybe with some of the northenders, if they ever come south
