Default Puget Sound/Seattle NW Area Riders Meet HERE!!!

Ok Quad,

You win, the Forestry cop was a **** anyway. He used to be a thurston Co Sheriff. Red headed guy with a crew cut.

I'll probably need to ride the roads anyway. I'm letting my brother ride the 700 and I know how crappy those trails can get early in the year.

No fun for a monster like that.

That's is the way it is in Capitol Forest.
Some DNR land you cannot ride on the roads.
As BEAR said, it is not the same everywhere.

Now Forest Service roads are off-limits everywhere, except rare places where it is posted.

That is the problem with quads bee-bopping on the roads, meeting up with cars and BIG trucks.
A guy (to remain unnamed ) met up with a car (I think a Subaru also) and ended up off the road and in the bushes. I got pics to prove it, hehehe
So, yes, we do have to be careful up there.
Ok Quad, You win,
No, I don't win, just explaining it as I know it from dealing with those guys
Not in it to win, just help understand, because it is different everywhere.
Trust me, but don't tell my wife, I'm not always right..and things do change..

Well, now that my brain is all cluttered up with more information than I can handle at one time,
guess I'll go get stuff ready for tomorrow.

Been researching what 90cc quad to get and build up for my daughter to race
Yikes, lots of info, narrowed it down to maybe 3
You guys have any thoughts, feel free to pass it along.
You can PM or e-mail me if you want.

Weather looks kinda good for tomorrow.
guess I'll just bring the little trailer.
Might bring my daughter and just go at our own pace, but we'll see.

IF YOU HAVE FRS RADIOS, BRING THEM.
If people split off and/or hang behind at slower pace, we can communicate in case somebody needs help or something.
We'll figure out a common channel tomorrow.........

I have 2 FRS radios and will bring them. I'm happy to loan one to another rider for safety purposes.

As for road riding, if you have not called your State Senator to Support EHB 1003. It would open non-highway roads on public lands to ATVs and other non-street legal ORVs. It is ready to go to the Senate Floor but more calls will always help, especially from any of you northerners in Democrat Senators' districts! You can get your Senators contact information at www.leg.wa.gov. It's very easy to e-mail them. Most review the e-mails right away.

I think you have it backwards.

We are not supposed to be on working forest roads. Just like Tahuya, if its closed to cars, Its open to ORV's in ORV riding areas.(A.K.A. the north half of Capitol forest)

Thats what the Forestry cops and Mason county Sheriff told me.
What would a Mason county Sheriff know about Capitol Forest? Tahuya yes, Capitol no. And the rules vary unfortunately.
Because he lives there and rides the area. Anyway I'll go with the general consensus. I don't ride Cap forest enough to know how the authorities will act. I just remember almost getting tatooed by a subaru with Bing a while back.

Strange, But Deputy Ken Potts, the Mason County Offroad Officer, lives and works in Mason County and Capitol Forest is in Thurston County mostly.

Thanks for the info, no such thing as overkill on stuff like this. Big numbers help.
Also, congrats on your Bill passage. Good job.

I am IT guy, I'd like to give my $.02 but, before I do I am curious as to why we don't just start a new thread?
This one is over a thousand pages, and because of that it loads extremely slow. A new thread would load a lot
quicker. Is there some kind of PSAR unspoken rule/tradition that I don't know about?

Not trying to step on any toes, just asking questions. I know I am the Newbie here....
been down that road before on a couple occasions,,,,,decided to keep the original thread both times

I have e-mailed both Representives Haigh and Eickmeyer asking for their support for EHB-1003. Will do it again next week too. And the next week, until they pass the bill.

Happa, I am gonna have to drop out of the ride tomorrrow at Rock Candy. I have an upper respiratory infection that I can't seem to shake. The Doctor and the wife have grounded me. Finally get a good day for riding and I get sick. Life sucks sometimes.

Bear, that is GREAT! Since the bill is in the Senate right now, it's vital that you also contact Senator Tim Sheldon. Now that he's an ATV lover, it should be an easy sell.
