Hi Everyone, I am over here in Beautiful Iraq, riding around on a honda something or other that we made from blown up vehicles. i work for the Army and live in Port Orchard when i am not here. I would like to know if there are areas to ride an atv in my area. i also don't know much about them- i sure love to ride though. I would like to dide trails and such- looking at the yamaha Kodiak 450 on line, but honestly don't know much about them. Any and all feedback would be appreciated.
Well Hi there. Thanks for joining our little group. Any info these guys and gals give you is very good info. My husband has a yfz450 and loves it, great little race bike and I have a Yamaha Raptor 350 just a great all around bike. Very soft and handles great. If you are looking for a place to ride anyone on here can tell you and are always waiting to meet up with anyone for a day on their toys. I am in Arlington and we go riding in Darrington and Walker Valley ( by Stevens Pass) and then we get together and go to Moses Lake or Oregon. I hope you have a safe time in Iraq and Thank you very much for what you are doing. Please keep us informed and when you get back LET'S RIDE.
Sorry this is bbbtats and maggiesboy is my husband. Wrong screen name.

Tracman,
Thanks for all you're doing in Iraq!!!
There are a few places to ride by you. There's Tahuya and Capitol Forest and a few north of there towards Port Angels. Most quads are equivallent, but the real difference is choosing between a sport or a utility quad. I prefer sport quads and have a ball on them. You'll have to choose if you want the snap of the sporty or the plush ride of a utility.
Look us up when you get back and I'm sure people will let you check out thier quads.
Be safe, we'll see ya when you get back!

Shelton Poker Run's in the books, huge ruts, massive mud holes, tight trails, dust and alot of sunshine. They did a great job on marking the route, they reversed the flow this year, rode in the opposite direction from last year with some brand new cut trails. Don't know how many people were out there, it got stacked up at times when quads and bikes got stuck in the rutted mud holes, but Kenny and I were able to ride 10 miles or so with nobody in sight, we were between the fast and slow riders, that was cool. I didn't have any problem with the mud holes, after riding with all you yaaahooos, I've learned to just upshift and fly through the nasty stuff with no fear. All of you have made me a better and much improved rider since the poker run last year, thanks for pushing and challenging me this past year, I've had a blast riding with everybody
We had a blast at Shelton today. I think it really helped Staci's confidence level when she got through one mudhole without a problem after the 4X4 ute in front of us got stuck in it. She is still kind of unsure of herself in the rough stuff but I think riding through the mud and ruts today helped her a lot. We haven't seen muddy ruts that deep before and it provided an interesting challenge for us newer riders.
