If the Liberal would let them, the NRA thru their kid safety program "Eddie Eagle" would teach every kid to react this way when they see a gun. But the Liberals would rather keep kids ignorant and in danger when this kind of thing happens. The NRA teaches this stuff from the article in every saftey class, not just to kids. I will bet that the "Safer Child" source cited stoled their info from the NRA."Keep your child safeParents are advised to take the following steps to protect their children from guns:* Always lock up firearms when they are not being used. Don't assume your child will not find the gun.* Always assume that any firearm is loaded.* Use a locking device appropriate for the children living in your house. Do not depend on it as a sole safety measure.* Never point a firearm at anyone, even in fun or as a joke.* Teach your children that if they see a gun, they should not touch it and should immediately leave the area and tell an adult. Teach them that guns are not toys and that if a friend wants to show them a gun, they should immediately leave the area and tell an adult.* Do not assume that other adults think the same way you do. Before letting your child play at someone's house, ask if there are firearms in the home and where they are.Source: Safer Child "
Now, I generally stay away from political(or religious) discussion, but I can't help myself this time. And let me qualify my following statement, that I TOTALLY AGREE with you about educating kids about the proper actions/reactions to the presence of firearms, so don't start flaming me yet.
My observation is this: It's a two way street.
Conservatives that support the NRA want education and freedom regarding our weapons, but fight tooth and nail against proper sex education, birth control options, etc. touting that abstenance is the best and only option. While this has improved in recent years(not enough), the more common line of thinking is that if they only preach abstenance to kids, and ignore "immoral" behavior, the "problems" will be solved. We all know darn well that kids are going to have sex and the ages they start are getting alarmingly younger. Why in the world can't we give kids the same education about that all too important issue, so they have the knowledge and tools to know better how to react when presented with the inevitable situation?
Liberals and Conservatives BOTH have their downfalls...JMHO

[stepping down off my soapbox now]
LdyJay, Oh, I never claimed the Conservatives were any better than the Liberals. They are the flip side of a drawing on very thin paper, the reverse image, neither one good. I raised my kids with all the knwledge they needed to function in life, relationships, sex, guns, cars, work ethic, being responsible for their actions, etc. If they needed to know they knew it. So far they are all doing fine and no one is in jail or on drugs or alcohol, thank God. I personnaly do not think any of these issues belong in the political arena and the parties are more about perpetuating themselves, rather than representing the people. You have said nothing I do not agree with 100%.

(my turn to step down off the soapbox)

LdyJay,

I think it's just that all those liberals are not having sex themselves (there wives are off with the conservative doing it, hehehehehe), so they figure if they can't, then nobody should.

I'm looking for a Trinity pipe for the LT80, is that something you can get through Casa De La Barn?
Those are suppose to compliment my Moore built motor pretty sweet.
I'm searching the internet for a good price, but figured I'd try you. Always nice to buy from friends if possible.

Tanks Mon
