Just got off the telephone with "Grandpa Bill". He is picking up $50.00 per week in entry fees for the boy! That helps out a bunch!

That Grandpa guy seems to be a sought after guy in the monroe roundy round game...........he is a sucker for the kids that race
There's always a spot on the black preddy for a sponsor sticker from the Pellham Timber Sports, no obligation.
We need to see what we can commit to as far as races this year.

Hey quad guru's! A couple questions...I know this is a longer post, but help me out.
I think I have finally come to the conclusion that, while I love my z400, it's time for some further upgrades. It's a great quad and I can't justify waiting for Suzuki to get off it's duff and release the Z450R. Besides, it will cost me less to invest in what I already own. Maybe in a couple years I will look at buying another 450, but for now I am outta patience!
It did great on the flats, but I have a feeling the Hot Cams made it fall on it's face on hill climbs at Florence. To get some low end grunt for tree shots back, I am thinking of either investing in an Athena 434 kit(or something like it) or possibly some cheaper mods. I can't do everything I want to all at once(carb, swingarm, suspension, etc), but I have some change to dump into it for the moment.
Just debating on how much trouble I can get in pulling my engine apart and if I can talk anyone into helping me again. I don't mind turning the wrenches, I just get skeered to do it without backup. I seem to break stuff if I am on my own. z400 engines can be modded by changing to the dirtbike version of some components like the heavier duty cam chain and DRZ valve springs, and thinner DRZ base gasket(which increases compression to 12:1-whatever that means). I am thinking it's also time to quit pushing my luck and change out the clutch to a heavier duty version before I burn it out all the way. Whatcha think?
TP I still have your chain thingymabobber I am going to try to utilize this week. And THANK YOU for your help with install of my Hotcams.
Also, looks like I am going to have to break down and have the frame gussetted and will probably have it powdercoated while it's apart. Have a hairline crack on one of my engine mounts. Anyone got suggestions on where to get a gusset kit or welding done? Is that a parts store thing(calling the PARTS GUY) or should the shop I have do the welding be able to supply it? And suggestions on how much powdercoating might be and where?
Help me go faster up the hills! Thanks!
