Old PSAR thread - please see the new one
LMAO ya that was probably it. He said that there was only one there, so it was like a do or die thing. He was telling me about some bell that CB has too. When you buy something like that you have to ring this bell and everyone looks at you and claps and yells. LOL Of course he looked like a dang hick that day. I swear some days i have to dress that boy!!!
The guy that i bought my quad from at Everett Powersports i guess works at CB now too. He remembered Justin which is kinda cool. I didn't know he went up there after i got my quad. I really like him he was a great salesman, no pressure at all. He's names Kane.

Hey all, I'm new here so I figure I would say hey to all the other members from WA State . Anyways whoever is in the "Tacoma Trail Cruisers" Club might know my brother and his family, Buddy and Kelly and Kyle and Amanda Wright. Anywho I do got a couple questions for riders from wa here, does anyone know of any good pits or places where I can ride that are fairly open so you can hit some nice jumps or decide you want to just rip around without worrying of hitting anyone if you decide you wanna go fast? If anyone knows of these kinds of places in WA to ride please let me know. Thanks
WQ, I heard Zuki was pushing it out to next March. You probably have more recent info though. And yes, I was just reading some reviews of the y450r and drooling, but mine is paid off, finally. So the other dilema is do I want to drop another $7500+ when we don't know what the problems are going to be? Having bought the first year run of the z400, I would like to have some of the little changes that they have corrected in subsequent years, like the chain adjuster, and frame stuff. Dunno if I am ready to have the guinea pig first run quad again. Tempting for all the new stuff on it though. You will have to let me know how much you like it and I may just have to drool for a while longer and wait for any little stuff to shake out.

The only reason i was calling around was because Justin didn't know what he wanted. He was thinking either the Z450, 700R, YFZ 450. So that is why i was calling around. I'm not ready to trade mine in yet. I paid cash so i have to get my money's worth atleast. Even if i do like the Z450 when it comes out i have to wait until most of the bugs are out of it. I hope the 700's don't have alot fo bugs. **keeping my fingers crossed**
So are you telling me the chain adjuster is a pain in the butt?? I have to tighten mine as i was looking at it yesterday. Have to find the book now to make sure i do it right. LOL

Hey quad guru's! A couple questions...I know this is a longer post, but help me out.
I think I have finally come to the conclusion that, while I love my z400, it's time for some further upgrades. It's a great quad and I can't justify waiting for Suzuki to get off it's duff and release the Z450R. Besides, it will cost me less to invest in what I already own. Maybe in a couple years I will look at buying another 450, but for now I am outta patience!
It did great on the flats, but I have a feeling the Hot Cams made it fall on it's face on hill climbs at Florence. To get some low end grunt for tree shots back, I am thinking of either investing in an Athena 434 kit(or something like it) or possibly some cheaper mods. I can't do everything I want to all at once(carb, swingarm, suspension, etc), but I have some change to dump into it for the moment.
Just debating on how much trouble I can get in pulling my engine apart and if I can talk anyone into helping me again. I don't mind turning the wrenches, I just get skeered to do it without backup. I seem to break stuff if I am on my own.
z400 engines can be modded by changing to the dirtbike version of some components like the heavier duty cam chain and DRZ valve springs, and thinner DRZ base gasket(which increases compression to 12:1-whatever that means). I am thinking it's also time to quit pushing my luck and change out the clutch to a heavier duty version before I burn it out all the way. Whatcha think?
TP I still have your chain thingymabobber I am going to try to utilize this week. And THANK YOU for your help with install of my Hotcams.
Also, looks like I am going to have to break down and have the frame gussetted and will probably have it powdercoated while it's apart. Have a hairline crack on one of my engine mounts. Anyone got suggestions on where to get a gusset kit or welding done? Is that a parts store thing(calling the PARTS GUY) or should the shop I have do the welding be able to supply it? And suggestions on how much powdercoating might be and where?
Help me go faster up the hills! Thanks!

As i was over in Moses Lake, Justin was up at SPCB "looking" at quads. He came home with the new 700 Raptor. He also got a DMC pipe with the PC III which he will install after the break in is done. Of course its white, but he loves it. I rode it after i got home from Moses lake and that thing has some power for not even giving it full throttle. It looks like a very nice quad that will fit Justin perfect. I like how it feels too, It feels alot better than the 660R.

I'm a guy, so I wouldn't know.
