ben,
It's good to hear from you. Hope you enjoy reading all the madness here on the thread. We've started a Yahoo Calander (link on some of the signatures) You can always sign up there and see what rides we have planned, in case you make it back for one of them.
Glad to hear your OK, but sorry to hear about your platoon mate. You guys keep up the good work!

WOW, slow day so far........
Hey There BEN, glad to see you are able to get on here. Hopefully takes your mind off things over there for a minute or two. I'm sorry to hear about your Platoons loss, and of course that goes for all that are injured or killed over there. We all definately support all of you over there. I had a close friend come home that was over there since the beginning. I also know one of the guys in the Stryker Brigade over there. Where are you located over there??????????????
It was to bad we didn't get to ride while you were here. But hey, it's understandable man, in your situation the family has to come first and spend all the time you can with them. There will be plenty of time to ride when you get home, I'm looking forward to it. Don't hesitate to look us up. How often are you able to jump on the internet? It's amazing that soldiers nowadays in a "war" situation can get on the internet, pretty amazing.
Keep us posted on how you guys & gals are doing over there. Keep safe.
Take care and send our regards to everybody with you,
SEAN

Everybody please read
2MNY brought some good points to my attention about the contact list on the Calendar website. Since there will be so many of us at the Pizza Fest, maybe we shoudl discuss this then.
I share his concerns and just got ahead of myself. Although access to the internal part is limited to members and has to be authorized by the moderator, we want to make sure the info is secure from those with not so good intentions. That is one reason why I only put First names only and Phone numbers (no address's). Somebody nobody has met yet, may be granted access to the Calendar, thus giving them access to everything. I am a good example, nobody had met me yet when I was accepted. I have to admit, I am not some psycho looking to do bad things (my second and third personality might though).
I think it is a good idea to have it on there. Remember, you DO NOT have to put your info on there if you do not wish to. But we need to keep it secure. Maybe we have to come up with criteria on how/when we give new people access to the calendar page.
Thanks for putting me in my place 2MNY
Standby for another thought.

Q4F,
Just sharing a concern over security .
To All:
It has been brought to my attention that misc. e-mails from the PSAR website are making it to your in-box. My appologies, I'll look at the settings and try to make the appropriate adjustments... Just trying to figure this thing out. I think you can adjust your membership settings to indicate "No E-mail". I'll look at it from the moderator's end.
Again, sorry for the e-mails.

Well, I was just looking through the Yahoo calander site that was created and it seems a bit more complex to me than just reading things via the threads. Sure, the sign up sheets are a great idea. And if I can figure out how to work with them, it is probably an awesome idea. But, until then, Ill just have to keep on reading the threads to find out whats going on. I see that someone also put a sign-up sheet for the pizza feed. I have a complete list of who all has contacted me about coming to the feed. I believe at last count it wa around 30 people. Now, Ill have another place to look for additional people. Wow, 1. check e-mail 2. scroll thought hundreds of thread postings and 3. go to the yahoo calander. Im sure the sign up sheeets for rides will be a great asset for all. It was mentioned that it would facilitate in arranging carpooling etc. Once I get all the wind damage repair done to the house, Im ready to ride. Heck, I wanted to go yesterday but we had 20 people a the house for dinner. Oh well, maybe one of these coming weekends.
Have a great week,
Nick

This is my thought, might be alittle hardcore but sometimes, that's the way it's gotta be.
Nobody should have access to the list of members, and nobody should be accepted to the yahoo group until a current member of the PSAR has met them and can vouch for them.

What Hap just said!
Okay, time to chime in! I had an excellent ride yesterday! I havn't ridden in perfect snow ever until yesterday! It was very cool being in the back of 15 quads going up switchbacks in front and above you all looking like pro flattrackers! 17 quads, and everybody kept up a good pace, and nobody got seperated on a 38 mile ride. That is incredible. There was not a soul there that I didn't like the minute I met them. You guys are just like you are on this thread!
To anybody here, If you get the chance to ride with this group, do it!
Hollywood, are you happy with Hap? I would marry you just on the merits of your apple pie! NO WAY was that 4 days old!
Guys, I will have a group picture of us in the snow in a few days. I've got to get it from WSQR member #7. I'll put it up as soon as I get it.
Hap and Realtor, what a couple of cheapskates! Now we know to follow you guys up to the cash register to make sure you pay for your meals.
Okay, on the ride, let me take a stab at who all went; YoDaddy, MTJEX, HappaRap, Bing, BigDaddy, Quad4Fun, Sandbomber, Lil' Hap, Bonehead 700, TrailBoss, TrailBoss's Daughter, RapBW01, WSQR member #7, WSQR member #8, Mr. BigBear, RapBWJr, and outkastjoe. Yes, I got it! All 17 baby!

Larry,
That isn't too hard core, it's the truth, and I agree. Please keep things like this coming, this way we all know what our expectations are.
FYI...To all... Just clarification...
PSAR site was set up primarily to be able to keep track of events that are planned in the future, so as to not plan an event in conflict with another. Intended to be a useful tool...
The main purpose to using Yahoo Groups is:
1) It's free.
2) It's already set-up for what we want to use it for.
3) If I get hit by a quad tomorrow, somebody else can pick up the ball and run with it.
Feed-back is good!!!! It's your site, everybody has a say in what goes on the site. If somebody has an idea, go ahead and implement it. If it doesn't work as efficiently as expected, then we know. But, we won't know unless we try.
I'm just learning how this yahoo groups thingy works, but it looks like there are a few useful tools. Such as the calendar, ability to add links to websites, share photos, post messages internally, database (to list whatever)...etc.
Also, I'm currently the owner of the PSAR site and there are a few moderators. I would like add another owner to the site (there can be multiple). Whomever is willing to do this, please let me know.
My goal is to stay out of the way and let you guys do what you want to do. Everybody has access to do what they want. If there is abuse, the moderators or owners can remove them from the group.
Sorry for such a long post, maybe this should be discussed at the pizza feed.
