Hey Guys, I have 2 05 Rancher AT's, I posted this to the Honda Forum
OK this is my last hope before I take it into the shop. My Rancher AT flashes ESP instead of displaying the N, D, R (Neutral) (Drive) (Reverse). It starts fine, when put into Reverse I just get a bunch of sputtering and jerking. In Drive it will move forward but I can't shift out of 1st Gear and the power is seriously impaired. ESP is the error code for the computer; it flashes 12 times then is solid for a few seconds. The Book says that 12 is the ECU CPU error. But I can play around in forward making sharp right and left turns shut it off then restart and every now and then it will display correctly and I can ride normally. That makes me think it has to be a short in a wire somewhere. I don't want to take it to the shop and have them replace the CPU if it is just a wire that is loose or shorted. Any ideas?
I have done just about everything I can think of. This is the first time I have ever had to take one into the shop. Is there one shop around here that is better than another? I bought them at Tacoma Motor Sports off Center St.

Rancher, you need to go out and buy a real quad. At least on that has *****. Yours is just slow and cumbersome. Oh by the way thanks for pulling me out of all those mud holes!!! Anyone here know anything about Honda Ranchers, Brian's is broke and was trying to come out to RC on the 8th.
