Look out, its a newbie! My wife and I just got quads. We have been out to Tahuya 5 times. I was wondering what people thought about riding at Beverly Dunes or Elbe Hills. Are these good places to ride? What type of riding does each place offer? Your help is appreciated.

Congratulations on the new quads, you should have a blast with them A large group of us are heading over to Beverly Sunday for a day ride, so if ya'll got an itch, join in on the fun. There's also a Ladies only ride put on by WSQR at the Rock Candy staging area in Capital State Forest, which will be logging roads only. The guys will be cooking and riding in another area, but still close by the ladies, so far there's about 15 lady riders. If you need any directions or have any questions ask away, you'll always find an answer for anything you might need to know
Oh yeah forgot, the WSQR Ladies ride is Saturday 10:00am

Around here there isn't a whole lot of riding. You've been to Tahuya.
There is Capitol Forest, trails are closed until April, but you can ride on the roads, just need to be careful of vehicles.
There is Evans Creek up out of Wilkeson. I wouldn't recommend going there until people are pretty skilled riders, and then I would only go with somebody that knows the entire area pretty good. There are some pretty hard, dangerous, technical trails that newbies shouldn't be on. It is a fun area though once you have the skills for it.
There may be a couple other smaller areas others know about. There a couple areas up North farther that others will mention I'm sure.
Elbe hills isn't that quad friendly, expecially for sporties. I wouldn't recommend going there, even though it is pretty close for us.
If you are interested in going to Capitol Forest @ Rock Candy entrance this Saturday, let us know. There will be lots of us there. Great opportunity to meet lots of people, it will be a lot of fun. Need directions or more info, just ask. Lots of riding and lots of BS time.

If anybody is interested in new maps for Capitol Forest, let me know. I am going to Olympia today or tomorrow to purchase a whole bunch. I think they are $3 - $5, but not sure. Their maps are pretty good and have all the trails on them. If you have a map that was done before 2002, there are lots of changes (new roads, and some road numbers have changed). I will probably be getting about 10 - 15 of them. I will bring them with me Saturday if you are interested. Let me know.
