We have 2 120's and a 110. For group rides they'll function the same. If you want to load maps into it, then you'll need some memory to handle it. For the rides and what I use them for, I'd get the 110's. It's kinda nice to be able to ping the location of another rider...

What's the best way to clean the mud out of your riding gear?
With waterproof gear it's best to wash it with Techwash. You can buy it at GI Joes. Regular laundry detergent will break down the waterproofing on your gear.
I use Techwash and then Techwax waterproofer and then line dry in the garage.
Like Larry said, I rinse them with the hose first.
Thanks everyone for your insight on how to clean riding gear!
We can exchange recipes later... .

Altho I have been accused of being a nerd by a local here I have no idea about "memory" and "load(ing) maps". Are these options that I should purchase at the same time as the radios or a seldom used add on to purchase as needed? Also, would one of the smart people here be able to assist with the loading and operation of said add on's?

I have difficulty when buying these types of things. Mainly because I don't want to fork out the $$$ for something I won't use. However, I don't want to buy a POS that won't do what I would like it to do in the future... this presents a real problem. WTF to do... So I buy the 120's... and later discover I really don't use the map function (as novel as it may be), I do use the track log, which is kinda nice to refer to later after a ride.

Loading maps and such, not a big deal if you follow the instructions that come with the map software... this can be handled at a later date. The problems with maps are they may or may not show the detail you need. For instance, I need ORV trail maps, these typically are not on the map software, therfore useless to me. TOPO maps are intereseting at best, but not useful when riding a quad on a trail in a designated ORV park.

I do have a road map program that interfaces with the Rhino and it displays on my laptop... again, interesting, but in reality, not that useful. I'm not a survivalist... I'm a trail kinda guy and a duner. I just need someone to find my carcus by the end of the day... the Rhino 110 does just that, if I pack it.

If you need help with loading maps and such, I know Bear has the next higher Rhino and knows how to do this. I can muddle through it and get it done. If you need help, it's here for ya.

I'd recommend deciding how you really are going to use it and buy the one with the capability you need. I can pack a paper map and a gps and be happy... besides, I don't need batteries for a paper map... .
