Every 14 degrees the air temp moves, you need to change your jetting.
If memory serves when the air temperature gets above 59 Deg. F. that 14 Deg air temp change would correlate to 1400 feet in elevation. This means, as I understand it, that if you were jetted properly for 80 Deg at sea level you could go to around 2800 feet at 60 degrees and still be golden.

It makes sense about the pressure/temperature correlation but I'm not sure I understand about the 14 degrees for a jet change when you are below around 60 Deg. F. since the air density below this point, as I understand it, as related to temperature changes very little.

Is this a rule of thumb learned thru the school of hard knocks?
the 14 degree rule was told to me by tuners at Eddie Sanders Racing, Alba Action Sports, Duncan Racing (Paul Turner Racing Engines), and Maxima oils jetting guide.

Yes, your altitude correction is spot on. I look at snomobile altitude jetting charts all day long

Only if you live right and never give lip to an Arctic Cat rider again.

Well now, you sure just know that's gonna happen. Especially when you consider how many folks I know that ride AC's. (is that a subsidiary of Allis Chalmers? )

For those of you with Rino radios, I picked this up off the Garmin site this evening, don't know how old it is or if you are already aware, but it looks like an upgrade is available.

We are pleased to announce that the FCC has granted Garmin a waiver that will allow the Rino series units to send position data on GMRS channels. In addition, Industry Canada has established a license-free GMRS service. Canadian Rino units will now allow users access to GMRS channels. Position sending/polling will also be allowed on Canadian GMRS channels. These new capabilities are available with a simple software update obtained free of charge from the Garmin Web site.

Mike
Thanks for the info! I upgraded the software on mine last year, but this looks like something different. I'll go check it out.

The other nice thing about the gps unit is that it gives you all the useless statistics about your ride... entertainment for later when relaxing with a beer.
Are you tryin to say I don't need a GPS to tell you all the statistics of our rides?
I didn't have the rhino when we went to coos... I thank you for all the useless statistics throughout the weekend. You are the useless stats guy! God like even... .

Hola PSAR! Haven't been on much in the past few weeks No I didn't divorce the thread either LOL I have just been super busy with work and more work around the house, reloading and quads I got my new plastics yesterday Have any of you ever used Clear Gaurd ? I was thinking about it but 110 smackers seems a little steep Wild was saying wonder boy was using some clear stickers on Eleanor??? Well anyway hope you are all doing well and I will be on more once things slow down a little.
HUH.......... clear stickers on Eleanore/?????? I"m confused!! Thats nothin' new though Not sure what your talking about can you explain better I may be able to help!!
Wild was saying something about 12 by 18 inch sheets of clear stickers you can buy to protect your plastics, he thought DJ was using them. That is what the above link is but the want 110 smackers for a set to fit the rancher If they make these clear sheets that wild speaks of I was thinking about putting them on my new plastics before they get trashed
Ahhh now I get it!! We've been meaning to buy sheets of carbon fiber looing sticker paper for his fenders by the backs of his boots & gas tank but still haven't gotten around to it, I know of a shop that sells sheets for like $20 for 2-3 sheets like 8x10 or so, I BET IF A CERTAIN PERSON WE KNOW CONTACTED A CERTAIN GRAPHICS GUY HE COULD PROBABLY GET SOME CLEAR STUFF not sure how much it would run but doesn't seem like it'd be $110 IDK though
Where & what kind of plastics did you get?? I wonder if Maier makes PINK for the Kodillac
Screwed up this post
