well me & the boyfriend broke up about 2 months ago.. he rides too. its kinda funny.. we don't talk anymore but we ending up being a member of the same ATV club.. I ride a yamaha kodiak 400 2x4.. a 7 month old eh.. well guess your right hard to go riding together maybe soon..

 

Because of my breakup I was able to purchase an ATV. I took my safety course last Saturday, one guy in the class was talking about Surry and said it was a great place to ride. He mainly does trips to the mountains. There really wasn't much as far as information in the class, most of the others owned land in BFE or were hunters and used there ATVs for that purpose. I guess there was no other word on the area around Busch Gardens. Another guy in the class had heard of the place, but didn't know how to get there. I guess this weekend I am going to hit Canal St.

I am new to VB from S. CA. This place is ridiculous for public riding areas. I am looking for riding areas other than MX tracks. I have stopped at a few bike shops and asked about riding areas and they all shrug their heads. How do they sell quads if there is no where to ride. I checked out the membership to Surry at the Polaris shop in Hampton but they are expensive unless you want to ride there all the time. I was told that there are places to ride on the beach at Nags Head during this time of the year and that Slades was a good place to ride. Does anyone have info or directions about those places or any other areas? I am ok with driving a few hours if the riding is good.

well there is another place in southhill, va. I did hear they have put memberships on hold for the time being.. but when I find out more I will let you know..

I am a member of an atv club in the richmond, va area.. check out the website.. we are planing a trip on the 12/27 to the george washington national forest (place is called Paterson). this club does some traveling so that is why I joined..

I saw the post about the southhill membership on hold. Bummer! The membership sounded more reasonable. Do you ride there? How is it? I am in my 30's. I have a fiance who rides the Honda. If I could find some decent riding places within a few hours I want to purchase a Predator and hand the keys to the Scrambler to my fiance. That would free up the Honda for my 13yo daughter to ride. I am hoping to find a place to take my daughter out riding during her Christmas break from school. I checked out the club web site. Thanks.

 

Im from nags head, no place to legally ride around here at all, i charge the dunes once in a while but thats cause i know where i can go that people never go. in corova you can go there and there pretty slack on enforcing the rules there supposedly. I can ride there cause i have land in currituck and only currituck county lany owners are allowed to ride on the beach (its pretty stupid) n e ways you can go there at your own risk. there arnt many cops up in corova and even if they see you as long as you arnt being crazy in front of them or tearing though peoples yards they wont stop you. i usually ride on my farm or my aunts farm in grandy (middle of currituck) and if I get bored enough i go up to CMX.

and also i am always looking for people to ride with any time. i love trail riding but there aint much of that around here unless you know people with land.

 

Well the recent breakup with my fiance enabled me to purchase an ATV, she hated them. Of course she hated pretty much anything adventureous. 4wheelingchic, I would love to meet and ride in Surry. I get my bonus early next week and then I will be ready to go. Have to get the grips to pay for the membership, pretty tapped after the trailer ATV and Christmas. Yes I do ride in southhill. I do have to say that surry has more trails then southhill, but the trails at south hill are longer.. but is all good riding..
