Thanks for your reply. When I went to kenedy meadows it was just me and friends all XR's my kids stayed home just wanted to know if big bears trails were similiar they sound more quad friendly. In your opinion where do u reccomend to stage for a day trip and for a overnite camp trip I have 4 quads with younger beginer/intermidiate rideing skill. How about for just the guys and I you seem pretty knowledgeable on all the areas thanks hope to not bother you your help is great we all love this sport thanks be safe.

For the guys, stage and camp at Pinnacles. It isn't a campground as such, but you can use it for "remote" camping. It does have water and pit toilets, but NO SHADE!! From there, you can go down to Silverwood Lake, over to Deep Creek, or ride the trail system.

For the kids, Crab Flats is your best bet, either for a day ride or overnight. Just park in the wide spot on 3N34 beyond the campground entrance if doing a day ride. Don't park at the staging area at the top of 2N12, because that trail is to much for the kids.

Miller Canyon near Silverwood Lake is a good choice too. It is lower, so it is hotter, but it has big trees and lots of shade. (Use the first of the two parking lots. The second one has a bathroom, and lots of flies to go with it!) From there you can ride lots of pretty good fire roads, and trails going up to Pinnacles.

Cactus Flats, which is down toward the desert from Big Bear is a nice place for beginners to play ride. To hot right now though, and no camping real nearby.

When the weather cools off, there are a MILLION places to ride in the desert. All of them have good areas for beginners to play in.

We ride all the time. Happy to give you a tour sometime!
