Knoxville, Tennessee.and surrounding areas
Found a little trail just a dzn miles west of downtown knoxville, off of middlebrook pk.
its small (only a few acres) but has all the right stuff, hills, mud, ponds, creeks and even a couple
of jumps. a friend of mine used to live close to it. only a few locals ride it infrequently.
Anyone else in the area know of other trails like this?

There's the sand pits - an abandonded quarry in East Knox county. 50 acres - 1/2 sand and 1/2 mild trails with a few interesting hill climbs. Rutledge pike to Mine road, R on Mine for about 2 - 3 miles. Between a small restaurant on R and a sharp LH curve near RR tracks, there will be a pullover on R with a metal pipe gate. ATV tracks are obvious near the gate.
I'm not sure of the current legality of riding there. It's been a riding place for many years - I have a friend who used to live on some adjoining property who had permission to ride there so I would go in through his place. Once he moved I stopped riding there.
Of course for totally legal and awesome riding:
1. Windrock (Coal Creek) just outside Oliver Springs. $10 per day or $50 per year. 70,000+ acres
2. Royal Blue WMA near Huntsville/ Caryville exits off I-75. $32 per year or (I think) about $10 per day. With other ridable lands joining up to it it's several hundred thousand acres
3. Chuck Swan WMA Just north of the Hwy 33 bridge by Norris lake. Free. 26,000 acres of mostly easy trails
4. Catoosa WMA - Access starts near Rockwood and continues out to Crossville, all off I-40. Free. 80,000 acres.
5. Never been here but there is the I-81 ATV park near Greenville
You live right in the middle of some of the best riding around. There are other areas within a few hours of Knoxville too.
