Yep my group of people will be going Feb14-16 for sure and probably a day or two earlier.

If any body want to hook up, we talk more specifically as it get closer.

And I'll be bringing the 700 Prairie, the Raptor, and my XR600.

For a first timer, can anybody suggest where to go for a day ride? I have a BLM trail map, and actually it shows a lot of routes between and around Jawbone and Dove, but not much at all within the "open areas". On the map, the open areas actually look rather small. Somewhere I heard that Jawbone is considerably more rocky than Dove??? Any advice???

Dove Springs is a good spot, the road in is only about a half mile long and you can camp anywhere is the big bowl, with trails radiating out from there.

There is a Ranger station at the Jaw Bone canyon road. they have maps and stuff.

Just got back from Jawbone/Dove, and I have to say that I was not very impressed at all! Just a bunch of very whooped out sandy trails and soft dirt hill climbs. I am betting that Red Rock Canyon State Park/Last Chance Canyon has the best scenery. Would like to go back and explore there!

DEFINITELY GET THE "FRIENDS OF JAWBONE" TRAIL MAP!! It covers the whole area, not just Jawbone. We need to have trail maps like this for the whole state!!!

Happy-Would you recommend a sport bike (Z400) for Red Rock, or a 4X4 utility (Rancher)????
