Ok, I guess I'll see you next week then at Miami?

Did you stay last weekend at Carnegie, in all the rain? We made it Sunday. Rain wasn't too bad, last 5 mins of our day was the wettest we got soaked.

Just taking this back to the top, shameless, I know.

But also a reminder, I'll be at Miami Motorcycle Trails next weekend. Ran into 450MCSE (think that's his name...close anyways.) Had a good time. Back over by Lone Sequoia was about 4" of snow, but melting pretty good. The creek is raging. Nice weather. Looking forward to it. Never camped this close to home before.

Skinner and LJ, what's this latest storm doing the Miami? If anythingMost of the damage is suppose to be above Sacramento but, the tail end is hitting us. They are talking 1-2 inches of rain over the next 24 hours

Rain tomorrow for Oakhurst. Not sure what will happen at Miami. It's 3500-4500'. If it's rain, it will kill the rest of the snow. If it's snow...uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. LOL

Not sure what the snow level is. Gotta be high. Looking at 60-70 the next few days here.

Didn't think we would go out, but when we woke up Sat. morning, it was so nice outside we said, "What the heck" and packed everything up. Wound up going to a nice place that I think you guys would like - my husband had been there once before. We like it better than Stoddard . . . it's kind of a cross between El Mirage and Gorman, out between Yucca Valley & 29 Palms (just before you hit the city of 29 Palms). It was 100 miles from our house in Corona, so that's not too bad. Off the 10 fwy, when you're in the middle of all those windmills near Palm Springs, go left on State Hwy 62 for 31 miles, then make a left onto Sunfair (a small street, don't even think there's a light), go 1 mile down and make a right on Broadway and go another mile. Broadway will turn into a dirt road and take you to a dry lake bed (there's even a small lake there) and hills with lots of trails. There's also a 150-200 ft. high sand hill climb back there as well (but you don't need paddles). We like it there much better than El Mirage. Very wide open, not crowded and nice views of the snow covered mountains. No Rangers and no hassles.

You are talking about a portion of the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Base and Sunfair is actually Coyote Valley Rd, they are one of the same. Coming off the 62 it is Coyote Valley Rd and becomes Sunfair Rd. Enjoy it while you can because the "No Rangers and no hassles" will change as soon as it becomes more popular and the Military Police get involved because you are riding on military base property......

Oh darn, it figures! My husband's friends have gone there for a while and they said it was legal. It's right behind a little rural neighborhood and there's no signs at all saying "no trespassing or no riding". Usually, if a place isn't legal, there won't be anyone staying overnight, but there were a good amount of RV's, etc., staying overnight there, having fires, etc. It just seemed like your typical OHV area and there were a bunch of people out there flying remote control airplanes too, just like at El Mirage. Ahhh, always too good to be true!

By the way, I love your quote! That's a good one.
