Just bought another quad for my #2 daughter. She outgrew her 50 far too fast. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] She got a Yamaha 80 this morning.

Should be taking delivery of my new Blazin' Orange 05 Kawasaki KFX 400 on Monday or Tuesday! Can't wait to get it out there to ride!

We went to Hollister this last weekend, for a little quading fun....

Some of you may remember, I reported recently after a trip to Hungry Valley, that the trails down there were well groomed, and I had wished that the staff at Hollister and HV would trade places, so that the Hollister trails could be improved......

Well somebody must have heard my prayer, because I have to tell you that all the trails at Hollister have been bladed or groomed, and the trails were all in great shape.....It used to be that on your typical Hollister trail, there would be a nasty hole on the far side of every little jump....so if you hit the jump,...you would invariably hit the hole on the other side.....that sucked.....

Well I swear that the nasty hole s are gone and every jump on every trail, was just about perfect....This is a big change for Hollister, cause it didn't used to be nice at all.....The trails themselves have been bladed, and are all basically perfect.....a pleasant surprise....

Yahooo! We had a great time....despite the dust....

Once again, get to Hollister before 0900 on a Saturday if you want a decent place to park....

One bummer though.....we came down Olive Orchard road from Tule Lake, and about 3000 yards before the end of the trail, some motorcyslists were blocking the trail because two of the riders had taken a tumble...both teens....one was OK but the other was just laying there...awake...with his left leg obviously broken and bent around in a way that looks bad......Well I went and advised the Rangers as to the medical problem, and of course they repsonded and rescued the kid.....He will be OK....

 

Usually Hollister stays on top of the trails. I think this year they didn't do much over the winter because it kept raining. Probably figured why keep fixing something, it's just going to get trashed next week.
