I'm so pissed.
Man that sucks! Whats wrong exactly with your elbow? I think it will be ok if you ride this weekend! Im going to have to check out jawbone...I hear its an awesome place to ride....Where exactly is it?

Yes, it does suck big time. It's just a classic case of tennis elbow, which is some kind of tendonitis which can be caused by many different things, not just tennis. It's sore constantly and you can't grip or lift anything without pain shooting up your forearm. It's been bothering me since November, but I've been riding with it anyway and just hoping it would go away, so now I've really screwed it up. I have to wear a forearm compression brace, take anti-inflammitory drugs and not ride, lift, grip, pull, twist or carry anything with that arm for 6 fricking weeks.

Darn, by the time this thing heals it'll almost be boating season!

We've never been to Jawbone/Red Rock before, but one of my husband's friends who has a 4x4 Jeep wanted us to go. It's in Cantil, CA, about 138 miles from our house (ugh!), a ways above Lancaster on the 14. I heard it's supposed to be really nice there too. I may just stay home now and let hubby go with his son He'll get mad at me if I try to ride, and I'll want to, but I'm sure they'll still want me to go so they have the cook, maid and dogwalker there, ha ha

Hey Ridinfolk-

Suffered the same thing a few years back : went through the same treatment as you with limited success. Ended up getting a cortisone shot in the joint (hurts for a few!) but after an hour tendonitis is noticibly better and can't remember how long it took (a day or two?) but not long before pain-free and completely healed. No problems sice then. I hope the non-invasive treatment works, but if it doesn't ask your doctor about the cortisone!

After all the discussion about Stoddard Valley were going for a 3 or 4 trip over Presidents Day weekend. Any thoughts about what it's like on a holiday weekend? Any advice on where to camp w/ motorhome?
Appreciate any ideas and suggestions!

We exited off hodge road and turned right. Then you climb up and over the mtn and there are nice places to park your RV or trailer. It seems a lot of RV's/ trailers exit hodge road but there are like 5 exits you can get off and camp off of. The cool Baja truck track is off hodge road also so if you want to see those awesome machines run then get off at hodge.

mcrider I made the announcements and I'm committed to Saturday for Miami. I'm coming from Clovis up 41 (Herndon, 41, McDonalds in Oakhurst, 6S41, Kimook). I'll PM you with ways to contact me. Usually ride at 10am, or earlier, sometimes later.

Are you on a quad or MC?

The doc did mention the cortisone shot, but said she'd wait and see how I was doing after the 6 weeks. I hope it doesn't come to that - I hate needles!

After all the talk lately about Stoddard Valley, we're going to give it a try soon as well. We've never been exactly where all of you are talking about, but used to go off of Wild Wash Road. Hubby said it was too boring (too flat) and it was usually VERY windy there, which none of us like, so we stopped going. But we're going to have to try where everyone else is talking about, especially since it's so close to us (gassing the RV is a killer) and it's free to camp there. I'd also like to know any good spots to camp with the motorhome.

I'm not really selling it now, was going to, but gonna use it for my quad. Just need a little trailer now. It would have been under the "can't afford not using it" tag, but going to get plenty of use now. As for the power that thing is great, has the Triton V10 which is an awesome powertrain. I can go up Cajon Pass with my boat in tow doing 75mph and still be able to accelerate. The boat is 18' Seadoo jet boat (seats 7) around 2750lbs (i think).
