b&rw jawbone is a 3hr drive at 65 mph pulling a trailer. that was the time it took me 4 weeks ago on a straight drive back. at 75 mph from herndon and 99 to hwy 58 is 1hr and 45 min. from bakersfield to jawbone is about 1hr to 1hr and 20min. with no trailer you should make it in about 2 1/2 hrs. to jawbone at 75 to 80 mph. when i checked my mileage guage it read just over 190 miles if i remeber it right. I hope that this helps.

Looks like it's just over 50 miles more for me, then PIsmo I can live with that

Mapquest tells me I'm 190.48 miles from Cantil, CA so you're probably about right. I guess that's another 20 miles (one way) or so over Pismo, which is only a little over 2 gals round trip difference. Figure since there's no camp fees, and Pismo would be $20 for a weekend, it's probably a little cheaper for the extra distance. I'm definately going to have to get over there. Plus I usually stick to close to the speed limit.

Just went for a quick spin at Hollister Hills. It rained a little this morning so there was no dust, but it was not muddy either! If you're heading there this weekend, you'll probably have good conditions...

Is the ATV track still jacked up? It was all rutted and tore up Halloween weekend.
