Hollister ride cut short due to broken sprocket on Raptor. Yup the kid was following me up trail, and when he landed small jump and felt "somethin ain't kosher here!" then shut it off and parked it. Found rear sprocket in five pieces.....P700 towed 660 back with chain slipping over the turning axle.

I'm guessing that my failure to ever examine sprocket bolts for tightness, was a contributing factor....but then again the kid has been short shifting and probably helped too. Three of six sprocket bolts broke off and need extracting.....new sprocket, washers, general inspection.....maybe I'll pay more attention, next time.

Good ride, though short.

Hollister trails have hard blue groove this year....track smooth and fast, jumps graded just right....

Bud, how was the dust?

I remember last summer (mid-July) I went to Hollister went out Lower Field and thought they had paved it as it was covered in tire rubber from being so hard.

Where there was no blue groove, in the upper trails, the dust was typically bad. In the morning it was awesome because the fog kept the ground pretty moist and dust wasn't too bad.

Pismo was great, Rode thursday, friday and saturday. Thursday was the only overcast day. Friday morning they took down the fence at the end of the beach. They oped the beach all the way down to pole 9 or 10. They also opened some riding area, if you would go to the old end of beach and follow the fence line back to the drag strip. Just before you hit the woops headed to the strip they opened the dunes to the right towards the beach. It was cool. The people in the booth at the beach entrance said they would slowly be opening more of the area to riding. That sounds very promising.

Chicks over riding hmmmm

Well I'll tell you this I came home Sat, when I left my wife had gone to monterey area to visit freinds, as she left to come home she was getting on to the freeway and was sideswiped by a Big Rig, thankfully she is alright but the 98 acura integra I think will not make it. I'll tell ya it scared the hell outta me when she called and told me she was in an accident. Here I was 2 1/2 hrs away and helpless to the fact that she was scared outta he wits to what could of happened. It made me appreciate at how lucky we are sometimes. Sorry I just thought I would share.
