CALIFORNIA Quad Riders report here.....
#583
400ex, it looks like it's at Hollister Hills SVRA. That is the old configuration of the track. They reworked the track Summer of '03. Both pic #10 & 11 are taken in the same corner. At that time that corner was a long sweeping turn. The track is ATV only. They have several dedicated tracks: ATV, MotoCross (MCs over 90cc only), Flat Track (MCs over 90cc only), Lodge MX is combined MC, ATV, ATC, but it's a nasty rutted thing.
Here's a description of the track as it is now after exiting that corner. You can see the stretch I'll start with in #10 in the background.
Straight has 4 jumps in series.
Turn 1 is a left hand, probably 40' radius. 180deg Slight banking.
Straight with a jump, not quite table top that dives into
Turn 2 sharp right followed by
Turn 3 sharp left. (these are like a chicaybe (spelling) in auto racing and a heck of a blast if you can get the hammer down and hold it.)
Straight with a slight rise that you can get the front off the ground if you are on it hard.
Turn 4 is a left 180deg. Probably 40' radius as well.
Short straight rising into
Turn 5 off camber right hand 180deg
Short straight
Turn 6 left hand flat
Beginning
The jumps on the straight are built right. They don't pop you into the air. My pic #9 is of me on about the 3rd in the series. A fast bike will probably take 4' vertical air and carry it 20'+. Often landing past the back side of the jump.
