Default CALIFORNIA Quad Riders report here.....

Rode Hollister last wekend, on Saturday. Perfect weather, dust was down. Not a lot of quads. Tried out new Durablue Eliminator axle on Raptor. Set wheel width at the +4 inch position. Son and I both liked the wide track. new gears and chain too....geared down one, to 12 tooth on front. should be good on low speed trails, it was a tad high geared, stock.

Heading down to Jawbone Canyon Nov 10-14. Were putting together informal Jawbone to Randsburg and back ride. We got a GPS "track" off the Jawbone "internet site". Over one way, and back a slightly different route. Looks like a lot of fun.

Note here. Even though Randsburg has gas, bring a spare container full, just in case.

So far we got 5 quads and 8 bikes for a friday and/or saturday day ride.

Any body wants to hook up, we'll try and rendevous, or else we see yall on the trail!

I was at Hollister this weekend as well. It was pretty awesome. Could have been a little smoother. Decently small group I was riding with. Had a ball of fun though. And the weather was perfect. A little warmer on Sunday, but was foggy in the morning a bit. The higher trails were still sunny though. I was camped out in Madrone almost at the back.

Buddxxx when you get to Jawbone go into the ranger station/welcome hut and they sell freinds of Jawbone maps with all the trails on it from El Paso range to rand and Jawbone very informative and great info. Would like to hook up with ya but it looks as if it maybe the weekend of thanksgiving before we get down there. Like to go into Randsburg and eat at the old saloon. Great burgers. As far as gas I haven't seen a station then again I have never really looked. The sand pit just before Randsburg is cool also. If you guys have time and a chance check out observation tower on the el paso range. You can get a clear view of ridgecrest from there. If you look at my pics most of them are from that area. Have fun......

Thankx for the info. Have that map too. Gas is apparently a short drive out of Randsburg...according to GPSTrack.....and is shown as a seperate Track....So I guess that means it's somewhere else.....

Check Http://Jawbone.info/ElPasoLoop.mps for GPS Map, if you have the Mapsource software to open it with...

Upon further map inspection, gas is available in Jahannesburg.

Anyways I am 16 and was wondering if there are any good places to ride not too far from the San Diego area besides Ocotillo Wells. Maybe any tips to help gain some CC increase without spending some rediculous amout of money. I would like to alter my bone stock 2002 400EX.

Yeah, there is a track in Lake Elsinore, but they're kind of expensive. You have to pay some sort of membership fee and than an additional fee each time you go, but it does look like fun. I've gone through there before just to look around.

There's legal riding areas in Temecula? Where? We're always looking for different places to ride closer to where we live too.

We're going to Salton Sea this weekend with a big group, should be fun. I've never ridden there before, only Ocotillo Wells. Speaking of Ocotillo Wells, what were all those "worms" crawling all over the ground by that "Seashell" cliff area? You couldn't even help running them over with your quad because they were all over the place . . . I've never seen anything like it - yuck!

400EXguy - I have a 400EX too . . . it's stock but I have a Bill's Pipe on it. The "Bill's" factory is right down the street from us and he gave us a great cash deal on our pipes just for walking in and asking. Don't think it gives it much more HP, but it sure sounds good! One of these days I'll get a jet kit put on it. I don't really need more power, but my son rides my quad too when he's here and he's always bugging me about it.

Thanks for the 411. Does this factory for "Bills" pipe have a web site? Those Worms sound like messy fun and where at the salton sea can you go to ride? If anyone knows info about youth racing in the San Diego area for stock bikes please reply to this msg, thanks!

I've never ridden at the Salton Sea before, but after this weekend I'll be able to let you know where we went and how it was. I assumed we'd need to bring the sand tires, but yesterday we were told we won't need them. I'm curious to see what it's like there too.

Yeah, Bill's Pipes has a website. You can just do a search in Yahoo or whatever and should be able to find it. Here in Corona, there's a lot of ATV/Motocross businesses located here . . . I can't remember all the names, but FMF, Bill's Pipes, RaceTech, Pro Armor and quite a few more are all here. I tried getting a cash deal from FMF, but they wouldn't do it. Bill's was great about it . . . he took off over $100 off the regular price if you gave him cash. Our quads all sound great! Originally I was looking for an "affordable" pipe at some of the motorsports stores, but all the lesser priced ones are "quiet" (which I didn't want) and the louder ones cost way more. My Bill's has a great sound and I got it for only $100! My husband's bought pipes for two of our quads there. He wished he knew about that place before he had already bought the Yoshimura for his own quad that cost a fortune.
