I try to post this area every year, because there are new people who don't know about it. There ARE beautiful nice cool places to ride in the mountains in the summer. DO A SEARCH of the areas I mention, and you will probably come up with directions and details. Also search "So. Calif.-" which is how I begin a lot of my posts.
Kennedy Meadows
Bishop
Mammoth
Inyo Mountains (more suitable for spring and fall, than summer)
Inyo National Forest has an "open unless posted closed" policy, so you have hundreds of miles of roads you can ride there. Just get a map and to out and explore!

also for the ones that don't know, Big Bear area during the summer months, thanks for turning me on to that place reconranger. The first time i rode 3n16 from crab flat over to big pine flats it became my favorite summer riding area. Last time i checked everything west and including 3n16 was closed due to the fires? Have you taken your toy hauler up to big pines flats campground via 3n16 from the south? I want to camp up there this summer but i forget how bad the road condition is to dive my truck/trailer there as everytime i go up i stage at crab flats and fly up 3n16 on my raptor
