On Long Island? Good luck!!!!!
As the owner of the OBI once said "Move out of New York Before its too late!!!"
Newsday reports that Suffolk County (New York) police officers this weekend impounded five all-terrain vehicles and issued summonses to their drivers in Brookhaven, New York. The police operation, in conjunction with officials from Brookhaven Town, the Suffolk Parks Department, and the state Department of Conservation, set up traps Saturday and Sunday to capture the all-terrain vehicle riders and charged them with having open alcoholic beverages and operating an all-terrain vehicle without the property owners' permission. Police officials' action came after serious complaints from property owners about the noise and dust from the vehicles, which are banned on public land.
The article reports that all-terrain vehicles have grown wildly popular on trails through wooded areas of Long Island, but as they have moved increasingly onto private property, they have angered property owners and adjacent residents. The police operation Saturday set up traps to catch the vehicles near Wading River and other wooded areas. The Seventh Precinct's Community Oriented Police Enforcement squad said a few of the vehicle riders got away from police officers, but most of them were nabbed. Police issued summonses to 5 and charged each with having open alcoholic beverages (beer) and operating an all-terrain vehicle without the property owners' permission. Also issued a desk-appearance ticket on charges of possession of marijuana.

Whats the deal with the spot by exit 56 off the LIE, The past few times I have passed by there people are parked in the hotel parking lot {trucks & trailers} and riding all over. I even saw hotel security parked there watching everyone ride and he didnt seem to care. Is it ok to ride there or are you still taking a chance by being there ???

it was ok, cops would come and just say to stay off the street. but the owner of the property filed a complant with the police so they were impounding and even arrested someone 2 weeks ago. i would say let it calm down for a couple weeks. but im sure everyone is still going. i only go sundays, they work there every other day.
