is there anywhere close to ride at? the only place we have is at a friends uncles farm, but he is not around all the time when we are itchin to do soe ridin.

 

i have no idea i was wondering if there is ANY place to ride in IL period...This has to be the worst place to own an atv...the only place i ride is up at my place in wisconsin...your lucky your further south, the closer you get the the suburbs you won't find anything..later

 

The BADLANDS is in Indiana (Attica) just across from Danville IL. Lots of hills, sand, and mud! It was featured in one of the past few Dirtwheels.

 

Yeah, the Badlands are about 2 and a half hours away, very nice place to ride I might add. That is it though. Cornfields are the closest things we have here to ride in, and that gets boring REAL fast.

 

I was in Marion the last week of August and saw in the newpaper there that the state of Illinois gave 2 grants away to build 2 ATV parks down in that area. This is a first according to the article. It's about time Illinois started to do something. There are some requirements to those people getting the grants like build and run safety course with training/classes. The grant is for maintenance buildings, tractors and instruction materials. It's a step!

 

If you will go to the district 17 home page for AMA. There are quite a few off road poker runs. This is a ride open to anyone for 10 bucks you ride as much as you want. I have went to several. I took my dirt bike,but there are a lot of quads there also. I think that I will take my quad next time. New Raptor. Enjoy!
