I don't ride in that area but check out the TrailPass website. I'd give you the link but it's on my other computer, sorry, google will find it though. I know they have some stuff listed out there, not sure how close it is to you.
I'm sure you'll get more posts with places to ride. Enjoy riding

There isn't a ton of public riding places to be had in our area. There are some good places in PA, and the southern tier. Maybe Wayne National Forest in OH, and I have heard of good riding in Alleghany National forest also. How far are you looking to drive? Tugg Hill has plenty of miles, but is also a good three hours from you.

sorry, i dont know anything that close to us.
we're going to Copper Ridge Trails tomorrow in Olean.
Majestic Trails is only another 20 minutes past there in Bradford, PA.
Both are great places to ride.
Majestic is super nice, and you can buy a membership and ride anytime you like
Copper ridge has dice runs once per month from april to october and the trail is great.
aside from those, you can run at the PA Allegany Forest trails: Timberline, Rocky Gap, and Marienville.
Plus, there's always the Susquehanok(?) National Forest Trail outside of Coudersport PA....

We get on the trails on Erie St. at the RR tracks crossing and head north. We pick up the major trail east-west which is actually the National Fuel gas utility right of way. We've taken that all the way out to Corfu. We go north and south from the right of way and get into some good mud, whether dependent. We get brave occasionally and cross Walden and head north toward Clarence area, where as you mentioned, there are the troopers and occasionally a DEC guy. We've been lucky but others haven't. We encounter a lot of kids on MX bikes and ATV's who should'nt have them, if you know what I mean.
