Default Redding California ?????

A buddy of mine just moved to Redding. I would describe him as an advanced beginner (most of his experience has been at Oregon Dunes), and he has a son who is a rank beginner. Looks like he may buy my Z400, and his son is on my kids old Honda 90.

Anyway, can any locals suggest some riding areas??? Any open riding areas up there (we have lots of BLM "open" areas here in the southern deserts)??? It would be nice if he could find a large level area where his son can just ride around in circles and get some experience, and some easy trails to start out on. There seems to be lots of national forest in the area, so what is available there????

What about winter riding??? Is there any snow at lower elevations????

Thanks!

Default Redding California ?????

check out "california atv riding areas" look for the chappie(?sp) ohv area below shasta dam and about 5 to 10 miles north of redding. Good flat area at staging area and campgrounds, loading ramps, lots of easy dirt roads and fire roads and some very technical riding for the more experienced.
