I forgot the GPS when I went! I left it in my breifcase. It is very easy to find. 247 to Bessemer Mine rd. Go north about 3 miles and you will see the staging areas and the large dry lakebed.

The trip to Johnson Valley was fun. Not too hot and lots of riding to be had! They were even filming a video for some skater supply (Etnies?). They had a huge half pipe set up on the lakebed and they were getting dusted out. I was riding wheelies by at 50 mph and my girlfriend said they got me on camera too...lol.

Atvtracy, It was nice to meet you and your boyfreind. We will have to meet up again and go for a ride next time! Hope you guys got home safe and all is well.
Eric

Going to Johnson Valley again this weekend. The San Bernardino County search and rescue is planning an event on Saturday. They have many activities and it is all fun.
GoHERE for a map.
I will be at Soggy Dry Lake.

Whats up fellow riders, we frequent the dry lake bed in Joshua tree and also Ocotillo and Glamis often. We have never been to Johnson Valley,We have heard of it though. We are in Banning, the 247 runs into the 62 in Yucca if I am not mistaken. After the turn off how far is the staging area from the turn off in Yucca. I just got a new toy ( 07 LTR 450 ) and need to break it in. And we where gonna head out to Joshua tree, but I am game for a new spot, plus the weather is gonna be perfect, just hope and pray for no wind, a little breeze is nice.If anyone knows give me a shout.

2007 LTR 450 ( mine )

If you look at the map link I put up a few posts above, you will see the entry from the 247 onto bessemer mine rd. Then north about 2 or 3 miles to Soggy Dry Lake. The restrooms are right between that road and the lakebed. You can't miss it. There should be a good crowd out there with the San Bernardino Valley search and rescue event going on. They will be set up where I would usually camp. Most weekends will not be as busy as this weekend, but there is plenty of room for all!
I will be in a white 4x4 Tundra with a white enclosed trailer.
