Anyone in the NY tri-state area? Just looking to share riding spots and possibly meet up and go riding. All of us out here know that it is very difficult to find riding spots up around here.

Thanks... I am a lot more south (Rockland County), so that is a bit of a drive. Would it be worth it to take a weekend trip up that way? Enough riding that I wont get bored of the same trails within a day or two? I usually go right over the boarder into PA (bout an hour n 15 mins from here) to some state trails, but they are small and I'm getting bored of the same things over and over again.

It's takes a couple days to ride all the trails and that's if you don't stop at he mud holes and scenic areas. Salmon river falls and reservoir is a nice place to hike. You could Google them for more info. Camping is available if you're into that. Salmon fishing is very popular in the area.

I'm in Westchester. I've given up on trying to find legal places to ride that are under say a 1 hour drive. I just make due with my weekly 30-45 miinute ride on the 8 acres of woods behind my house (private property). At this point, I can run my trails with my eyes closed. I ride a Warrior, so I never make it north of 3rd gear. Plus, I can't go nuts back there because I live in an upscale area and I have homes on each side of my property (I respect my neighbors). Twice a year, I go up to a family farm (1k + acres) up in Jefferson County NY (Alex Bay area). We get in a solid 3-4 days of riding, along with some fishing, target practice and varmint hunting, so it's worth the 700 mile r/t ride (another plus, it a guys only trip).

Hey, I'm all for girls that ride. In fact, I'm getting my 9 year old daughter into it and my 5 year girl is the one who eggs Dad on to do wheelies up the driveway. My 9 year is also into kart racing. Sure, my daughter is into all the standard girl stuff, but she also has the gearhead chick thing going on. I have a feeling that I'm going to be beating the boys back with a stick when she starts dating.

In my case, my wife is not that into the bike or ATV thing. Back in the day, I got her on the back of my F2 CBR once and that was it. She could not stand the fact that I had a bike. I've had 1-2 sportbikes in my garage for 20 years. Two years ago she finally broke me down and I sold my '98 CBR 900RR....that's when I got my first quad. She's luke-warm on the quad thing......less chance of me getting killed on the quad.

Maybe she doesn't like the manual shift. See if you can borrow an automatic like the Yamaha Grizzly 350. Very easy to ride, very predictable power delivery, has full floor boards, is very quiet and you could use it around your property for yard work.

If she's like my wife you'd have to eliminate the dirt, bumps, dust, mud and bugs. My daughter however loves ATVing.

Skip1: Yeah, that's my wife. Now my daughter is into ATVing and the outdoors. She also likes to hang-out in the garage and turn the wrenches with me.....that being said, we have the soundtrack to either High School Musical or Hannah Montana playing on CD player.

Now back to the topic of areas to ride in the Tri-State area. I'm also interested in finding places to ride.
