MN. and Wis. Riding Groups
#101
Hey Wisconsin Guys,
Just joined this forum to find out about where to ride and maybe what kind of quad to get. I currently only have a suzuki lt160 which is fun for driving around my yard, field, etc. I have had a 350 banshee in the past but Now i'm looking to either get a yamaha wolvering 450 4x4 or a suzuki z400. Not really sure as to many places around the area I could ride the sport quad, even though i'd prefer it. Anyway, I just moved to Oak Creek wisconsin and I can't find anywhere to ride locally. I wouldn't mind taking the trips on weekends but it would be nice to ride somewhere on days off or nights when i'm home from work. I've been to BONG before and don't really like it there. Anyone know of any local riding groups or places to ride in this area? Also, any suggestions on a good place to buy a new/used quad from?

Yes Z - I ride as much as I can. Last weekend we were at Lake Hilbert WI. If non of you sport quad people have ever been up that way - GO THERE - the trail system in Florence Co - pembine area is fantastic!
This weekend we are heading towards the Mud Runs in Ojibwa and Hawkins and riding in between by Park Falls Area.
Fester - Have a great time - maybe we'll see you on the trails!
Guyz - i havent been on this site very much because it seems that people dont wanna hook up to ride - they tell about their trips after, but dont allow enough time to get a group together and say - hey - we're going here - join us and get it all planned some to ride together....
I am over on ATVNATION.com a lot - we plan - show pics and generally have a great time together with people there....of course I am STAR on there!
I WILL however make a better attempt to get over here and chat with you though...I promise!

Check out this site...http://offroad.honda.com/family/... on the middle right part of this page is a link to select a trail. This is a great resource for trail systems in all areas. We ride in northern IL and WI. Over in Keewanee is a great park but only open without snow. There is another park around Tigerton east of Green Bay that is open year round. We did that park last winter and it was good but the snow was to deep for the kids so we just used the race track to ride. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the link.
I've been to Tigerton about 10 times now. It's a great place.
Kewaunee was ok. I can't say I would drive 2 hours to go there again. It is a great place if you like hill climbing steep grades but not much other than that.

Crucial have you been to Black river falls, or even to the atv part in rock ford. Those are some great places to ride. Where do you live at.

I live in Milwaukee. I've been to BRF. Rode the Jackson/Clark county trails. Haven't made it back up there in a few years though.
I've looked at the rocky glen OHV park a few times but never made it out there yet.

The kids and I go to Rocky Glen regularly. Its great for the kids because there is a small kids track and usually mud, thats it. I wouldn't waste the drive from MKE for it unless your desperate. The better choice is the Cliffs in Marsellies(sp?) Illinois check it out on the link above. Great trails, good hills, fun river and usually lots of mud. A small group of friends are going on the 14th of September if you want to join us your welcome and I'll give you more info if you want.

Is that the cliffs insane terrain place? I've heard of it and looked at some of the videos. It looks like fun. I just have to convince my riding buddies to go there.
When you say fun river can you actually ride in it? The guys I ride with are usually looking for mud and my dad is always talking about how he wants to drive in a river and float the front end. We have driven the river in tigerton but if we got caught I'm sure it wouldn't be pretty.

Yes you can ride the river but you have to be careful. There are a lot of jeeps and such and when the gert stuck in the river they make big holes that you can't see. It is really a great place for trails, mud and such. We are going on the 14th so I'll let you know how it was!!
