I live in Ludlow, MA. I always see people hauling quads. Just wondering where the heck everyone is going. I don't know of too many places to ride. Any ideas.

 

there is the ludlow fish and game... think you can ride there. I believe you have to be a member though.

What your seeing is probably people going to 'private' riding areas or going places to ride illegally. The state only has 4 places to ride, all out in the berkshires.

 

Mass site Hey Scurby, there are 3 places in Mass. that allow riding.

They are:

Beartown State Forest (Lee, Great Barrington and Monterey) tel. # (413)528-0904
Approximately 25 miles of ORV trails suitable for motorcycles or ATVs.

October Mountain State Forest (Lee, Lenox, Washington and Becket) tel. # (413)243-1778
Approximately 30 miles of ORV trails suitable for motorcycles or ATVs.

Pittsfield State Forest (Pittsfield, Lanesboro and Hancock) tel. # (413)442-8992
Approximately 36 miles of ORV trails suitable for motorcycles or ATVs.

 

You can ride Tolland also, the state just recommends you go elsewhere because they don't want you riding up and down the roads to get to other parts of the trails....many people still do it though.
