did the ice melt at Marienville yet?

The one guy who lived near there, I fogot your name, but could you please tell me if the Timerline& Marienville ATV trails are still covered in ice? I would like to come up as soon as the mud is showing thru. The muddy pics on my below photo page are from there last year during a spring thaw & is was a total blast. Mud everywhere. Cant wait to play in the mud again.

I was there on 2/10/01 and the trails were ice and rutted. Saw a couple of guys with 2wd and they said that if you keep your momentum going up hills it's ok. But we had trouble on one hill, all ice and all four wheels a spinning. Once you stop it's down hill backwards with no way to stop. Had a minor collision with my buddies quad but nothing serious. That made us pay more attention to the trail and take it easy on the down hill sections. Otherwise, great riding but a little cold. Definitely call ahead, as they will close the trails if it is too muddy and soft after a good thaw. It does stay colder up there, so look at a Marienville or close by forecast.

Thanks. I was hoping it would have melted more since it's been so warm but I guess it hasn't really been that warm up there. When does the trail officially close for spring excluding short notice closures, anyone know?
Thanks
