Hey kev- for some reason your email was spammed- If I head out this weekend, it'll be later in the evening, probably close to 5 or 6pm because I have my kids. But we can also ride during the week after 330pm- still plenty of light.

Troy-
I called the environmental police today- meeting them on the trail later this afternoon. I'm going to hammer this a$$ hole who spiked the trail- He has no idea who he's mess'in with
I have pics and a few of the spikes I dug up- He's not the brightest star in the sky- he actually posted a sign saying spikes! He's actually admitting to the crime!

Ok- so I just got a call from the Rhode Island EP,
They sent a sergeant over this morning to investigate- I guess he found a few spikes! The guys name who is laying the spikes is wilfred farley lives at 1535 round top rd. in burrillville.
This guy is a total nut case- laying 2.5" hollow tri-blade spikes- I see young kids and people hiking out there all the time and people on horses & mountain bikes. He could kill someone.

I guess my neighbor had a few words with him a few years back about him running his chain saw at 2am felling trees
His yard is a dump- cars & trucks everywhere- looks like white trash.

Well- I guess the EP will handle it now. They told me to call back if he does it again. They are making him recondition the property where the spikes were. All for what? Maybe 10 atv's per week use that section of the trail-

This guy sounds like a nut job. He's giving white trash like me a bad name!

Would love to ride this week, but not going to be home until Thursday. If anyone's up for a night ride this weekend, I'm in. Sounds like it would be a good time if the good weather holds out. Otherwise, see you when you got the weekend off again.

Later.

I've been trying to get someone to do a night ride for months! Seems people would rather have a social life then go riding (ehhh emmm- troy)

TroyBoy/BeerGut:

I've been GPX mapping the whole area for a while now - with the goal of mapping out all the good ATV & Mountain Bike & Hiking trails from DSF -> Buck Hill -> Quaddick SP (in CT) -> Pulaski / GW SF (in RI) -> Glocester Town Forest (in RI) -> Durfee Hill (in RI). Have most of the northern (i.e. DSF & Buck Hill) trails mapped and distringuished between good ATV vs. good hiking trails.

Have any of you GPX mapped your rides in the area yet? If so, private message me with your e-mail address and I'll exchange a complete topo with you for any GPX files you have of the area.

Well- I have used g.earth to put together a 70 page aerial of the trail system (90+ mb file)- but what I'm finding out is many of the trails here are not visable due to the tree canopy- an there are many narrow technical trails like old narrow river beds that arn't on any maps. I do use my garmin vista gps- but I'm not very savvy with uploading data or mapping it out on line. Also- many of the roads around here are dirt, and secluded- I've gotten lost a few times.

and WELCOME TO THE SITE!

I agree with TroyBoy.

Besides, not knowing where I am gives me plausible deniability.
