Had a great ride today with troy & cnc
the 3 of us covered a good 50 miles!
As for events... Lets see- I flew by troy, who was sitting on the edge of the ice- I broke through about 50' up and needed both winches to get me out- (troy says he was waving for me to stop- but I think it was more of a "go on- you're all set" wave
) then I hit a tree going up a snowy hill, not once- but twice (stupid rut
) and bent my front bumper a little
Some of the trails were still under a good foot of snow and the ruts were killa.
Troy slid into a tree also- no damage. He made the tree apologize for being in the way (that took a few minutes- trees are stubborn
) and we were on our way... we ended up lifting the grizz over a log he got hung up on while navigating a river...
I was happy to get some ride time on cnc's new 750 axi
who managed to remain unstuck (score one for the zuki
) Both troy & cnc got plenty of pics of the mighty renegade stuck in the ice & the ruts

My face feels wind burned and I'm wiped- had a blast! when's the next one
!

I've used my winch maybe a half dozen times to pull others out of mud that I barely made it through. Used a bunch of times pulling trees that were cut down to a clearing. Used a bunch of times to pull myself and others out of waist deep snow a couple weeks ago. Good thing to have. Once you use it you won't regret it. I would also recommend getting a ****** block pulley. If you're stuck deep enough it multiplies the effort necessary to pull out the quad. The pulley will essentially double the max pull of your winch. Had to do that one time a couple weeks ago when I was up to the rack in soft snow. Can get them on eBay pretty cheap. Recovery Winch ****** Block (Pulley Block) 16000lb - eBay (item 260723676706 end time Mar-18-11 09:42:57 PDT) I like this type best because the two flat pieces of metal around the pulley rotate so it's easy to put the winch cable in the pulley. I've also used it to move huge trees off trails.
Had a question for you on the Suzuki. Does your KQ have serrated metal footpegs bolted on your footwells? If so, how what are the dimensions and are they made out of aluminum? I'm thinking of getting some to bolt on my X2. When we did the trip a couple weeks ago I got water all over my quad that flash froze in my footwells and made them very slippery. I was thinking of adding some serrated ones.

Just took some pics 'specially for you. Hope this helps.

Edit: P.S. I did get a ****** block with the winch. I'll have to start bringing it along after I improve my cargo space.

Awesome recap Beergut LMAO. I'd like to add that they were 50 hard miles (good too). Lots of whoops. I am wiped out.
Here's some proof that we're not just making the whole thing up

ehhh! Just spent the last 3 hours bolting the winch to the rene- what a pain in the ***! had to remove just about the whole front end and replace stock brackets with new steel ones- now I just have to wire it

Did you find two conduits going from behind radiator to battery area? If yes, you must be done in one or two hours.
